MIDITrail App Reviews

I WOULD like it, but...

This is a great idea. There are "many" (some?) things out there like this, but Ill stick with reviewing this one. I have a bunch of midi songs that I would like to put on my iPod. It doesnt like them. What do I do with them? Oh Look! MIDITrail! *download* WOW! ITS DONE! 0_0 no sound. I cant hear a thing. . . . Please to fix?

no sound

doesnt work not even worth the download time...

Plays MIDI files with a

The program worked fine after I set it up correctly - reading the manual was very helpful. It does create some very simple graphics to the MIDI files that I dropped onto the window. I was hoping the program would be a MIDI file player that would be able to control paramaters of the MIDI files: tempo, key, solo tracks, mute tracks, etc. However, it seems that none of those MIDI parameters are adjustable - at least nothing is mentioned in the manual, and I was not able to find any keyboard shortcuts that would help me in this regard. Basicly, its just a program that runs MIDI files and creates a simple graphic based on the notes of the piano.

Error, error, crash

Downloaded, ran, asked me to lower my security settings (!), opened a midi file, crash.

Plays MIDI files and displays in a cool way!

I love this little app. It does exactly what it says it does. It plays any .mid file perfectly and also displays the passing MIDI notes. Pretty cool!

Great software

Good & beauty player! Thanks for Masashi Wada!

Best of free for MIDI

Thanks for this application! Looks great!!! Now it’s possible to play bounced MIDI on Mavericks at a normal volume level )))

Non serve

App che non serve a gran chè.

really fun app for a composer!!

Though, I cant seem to think of any practical use for this application, it doesnt take away from the fact that its just pure fun to watch.

Fun to use

I find this program to be a very interesting and different idea. I also see that i might be able to learn how to play a song using it. the only problem is there is no slow down option (unless i just cant find it). so i am holding one star for no slow down

Can it go in slow-motion?

Hi, I like this, and am thinking of using it to learn how to play some piano midi files I have. Can you please add a slow-motion option...like listening to the music file in a slower speed? Thanks for considering!

This is true

Neat, Complete and Cant be beat! Thank you

very "spatial"!

OK, this is very cool. Im very visually oriented, and I love the way that you can see the music coming from far off -- notes, measures, MIDI parts, and all. Very creative.

Fun visual insight into midi file composition

This is a visual way of exploring the structure of a midi song, while its playing. Some suggestions for the developer: Support a fullscreen mode. Piona Roll Rain should leave out the unused instruments. Some kid of auto-camera mode that is looking at where the action is (and transitioning reasonably.)

confused

Not sure how to use this. anyone help?

Needs additional MIDI-out capability

Love the interface and all. Very clever. But it wont send to my Kontakt 4 virtual input. Not even an option. If this were added I would be such a happy camper.

For those of you who are confused, READ THE MANUAL

It took me forever to realize that all the options werent available to select until you close the midi youre currently playing.

NO WAY!

It didnt playany SOUND, my volume was all the way up. Dont get it.

Love it!

This is a fantastic free app. Its super easy to turn the sound on the first time you use it. Just go to Option> Midi Out> and choose Apple DSL Music Device. Thats it. Endless entertainment. Find thousands of free midi files on the web. Just Google your favorite songs with "title midi file", download, then open them with MIDITrail. Also very easy to slow down and speed up tempo while watching and listening. Im really enjoying this. Cheers :o)

Too good to be true?

When looking at the images and description, this seems like an innovative and truly amazing program. One that would make visual shows for DJs easier as well as allow an artist to moniter the Midi controlloer they are using. However, I have found that this program doesnt tend to pick up any Midi device used and insists that one is not active. If it werent free Id say dont waste your money. Since it is free, I say, dont get your hopes up, youll probably be dissapointed.
